Goodbye Buenos Aires

So, this is it, our last day in Buenos Aires. We can't believe we are actually leaving.... I mean, we have lived here for over six months now. But we are leaving today at seven p.m. on a bus that will take us to a city in the north of Argentina called Salta. It is right in the Andes... everyone who knows it says it is an amazing city with incredible scenery and a great nightlife. The bus will take TWENTY hours, so we are prepared for some serious boredom.... and are loading up on magazines and candy!! We will stay in Salta for about 3 nights before heading into the Chilean desert. Then we will go to Bolivia and then to Peru to see the ruins of Machu Pichu and the Amazon. From there, we aren't exactly sure where we are going, as we have many options, but we will let you know.
Our last week in Buenos Aires was mostly spent arranging our departure (which meant several trips to the bus station and about a million hours online), finishing with our course at the University and saying goodbye to the many friends we have made during our time here. Last night we had a goodbye party, much like the one we had before leaving Toronto. We went to a bar near our place. It went really well, a lot of people showed up and we had an amazing time seeing everyone, and an equally heartbreaking time saying goodbye. It was especially hard as we may not see many of our friends again, as many of them are foreigners, like us, and we may never get to go to each other's countries. This morning we woke up to finish packing our backpacks (thank God we could fit it all in!) and are now just taking care of a few things before we head to the bus station.

We will be updating the blog a lot more often now that we are moving from city to city so fast, so expect an update every three or four days... maybe less. So for everyone who complains we don't update enough... Bernard...Maria Fernanda...Jamie...Ali... you will be happy.

love

Alice and Tova
