the weekend

hey all,

We had a pretty quiet weekend here, just some shopping, hanging out with friends. Alice had another cockroach attack in the shower... It is getting extremely hot here, in the low thirties with clear sunny skies, which is wonderful for tanning, but we are sweating!!! We don't have a fan or any air conditioning and it is hot, to say the least, which makes trying to sleep at night really difficult. However, we know we cannot complain, knowing all of you at home are braving the ice and snow as we speak.

On Saturday night, we went to Lucia and Renata's (they are twins) twenty-third birthday bash, which was a lot of fun. People here don't drink anywhere near as much as they do in Canada, and Tova and I decided to shake things up and add a lil Canadian flavour by brining some bottles of vodka etc... and some shot gasses. Well, as you can see from the pictures, people were loving the shot concept, which seemed somewhat new to many of them, and we managed to get half the party drunk (you must understand that these people are total lightweights). One girl was actually crying, we got her so drunk...So we quitely made our exit then and left the emotional damage and empty bottles for everyone else to clean up.
